Nutmeg
The scent of nutmeg often brings out memories of sitting at home during the Christmas season with a cup of
eggnog with a light sprinkle of nutmeg over the top, by a warm fire. Nutmeg does have other uses, though. Ground
nutmeg is really quite strong, and is used sparingly - but its list of uses is immense. Nutmeg goes extremely well
with vegetable recipes, just about anything that's baked, and in cream soups. It's also a popular flavoring for pork
or bratwurst sausages.
