About this Recipe:
These delicious walnut filled cookies are must have for everyone who enjoys afternoon tea.

Main Ingredients:
All purpose flour: 3.5 cups Butter: 2 sticks (1 cup or 1/2 lb) at room temperature Oil: 2tbsp Egg yolks: 3 Corn syrup: 2 tbsp Water: 1/3 cup Icing sugar: 1+1/4 cup Backing powder: 1 tsp Cornmeal: 1/4 cup Egg: 1, beaten Sesame seeds: to decorate
Filling Ingredients:
Sugar: 1 cup (or less) Crushed walnuts: 1 cup Ground cinnamon: 1 tbsp Ground cardamom: 1 tsp Rosewater: 1/4-1/2 cup Nutmeg: 1/4 tsp
Directions:
1. Using your mixer, cream the butter with icing sugar.
2. Then mix vegetable oil and egg yolks one by one.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients starting with flour, backing powder, cornmeal, water and corn syrup. Mix well.
4. Let the dough rest for 20 min.
5. Preheat the oven to 350 F/175 C.
5. Meanwhile, combine and mix all the filling ingredients.
6. Divide the dough into 12 pieces.
7. For each cookie, roll one part of the dough and add some filling to the center of it. Then close the dough and form it into a ball.
8. Transfer all the balls into a baking sheet. Press them down to a thickness of about 1 cm or 1/2 inch.
9. Decorate the top of the cookies then brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle over with some sesame seeds.
10. Bake in the oven for 20-30 min or until turn golden.
