Fried  Mushrooms

About this Recipe:

For fried mushroom recipe, use white or brown mushrooms. Also remember to place fried mushrooms on a napkin to soak excess oil before serving. Serve with fresh lemon juice and fresh cilantro.


Main Ingredients:

Mushrooms: 1 lb (0.5 kg)
Garlic: 2 cloves, thinly chopped
Onion: 1 medium, thinly chopped
Flour: 1+1/4 cup
Corn starch: 1 tbsp
Water: 1.5 cups
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Pepper: to taste
Curry powder: 1/2 tsp
Backing powder: 1/2 tsp
Vegetable oil: for frying
Lemon juice: optional
Cilantro: optional


Directions:

1. Mix together flour, corn starch, salt, pepper, backing powder and curry powder.

2. Add water and blend well. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

3. Add chopped garlic and onion, then add mushrooms. Blend till all the mushrooms completely covered with the dough.

4. Meanwhile, heat a pan with some vegetable oil.

5. Add mushrooms to the pan and fry for 5 minutes or till brown.

6. Serve the mushrooms with lemon and chopped cilantro.
