Strawberries with Balsamic Reduction and Dried Mint

About this Recipe:

By reducing balsamic vinegar with sugar, you will end up with a thick creamy paste which not only enhances the flavor of strawberries, but also brings out their wonderful red color. This is an amazing dessert on its own by you can also serve it with lady finger cookies or whipped cream on side.

Main Ingredients:

Fresh Strawberries: 1 cup, rinsed, stemmed and sliced
Balsamic Vinegar: 1/2 cup
Sugar: 1.5 tbsp
Coca Powder: 1 tsp
Dried Mint: 1 tsp

Directions:

1. In a sauce pan, bring the balsamic vinegar and 1/2 tbsp sugar to boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 min or till it reduces to 2 tbsp. Let it cool.

2. Meanwhile, combine strawberries with 1 tbsp sugar and leave in the fridge for 45 min.

3. In a bowl, toss and blend strawberries, reduced balsamic, coca powder and dried mint.

4. Serve in a plate with whipped cream on top or lady finger cookies on side.
