Ladanem: This protein-rich dip is the most famous appetizers in the Middle East. You can also put Hummos on fish, meat and chicken or have it as a side dish. Tahini is creamy liquid ingredient, which you can either find in grocery stores specially Arabic stores or in department stores beside Peanut Butter.
Chickpeas: 1-3/4 cups, cooked Sour cream or yogurt: 1/2 cup Water: 1/4 cup Garlic: 2 cloves, crushed with salt Tahini: 1/4 cup Lemon juice: 1/3 cup Fresh mint: 1 or 2 tbs, chopped (optional)
1. Puree the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Add additional tahini and/or lemon juice if necessary until you have achieved a flavor and consistency that suits your taste. This texture should be thinner than mashed potatoes but with enough body to hold an edge.
