For a very tasty variation, add 1lb browned lamb (leg or shoulder, cubed) just after the soup reaches a boil, plus a little salt and pepper. Simmer lamb and soup together, uncovered for 1.5 hrs. Fluid will boil down to a thick lamb curry sauce. Serve over basmati rice.
